Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed on the need to move ahead with long-term vision and urged the ministers to work with proper planning.

Directing the ministers and secretaries regarding the implementation of government’s annual policies, programmes and fiscal budget at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Friday, PM Oli noted that people have high expectations from the government as democracy and people’s rights have been established in the country.

“This government is not like a priest who wakes up early in the morning and visits temple to repeat the same rituals every day,” said PM Oli, “We should steer the nation in a completely different manner apart from giving continuity to past practices.”

Reiterating the need to make a new vision for development, PM Oli directed the ministries to come up with concrete plans within the next 15 days.    “We should hold intense discussion on plans on July 9 and start implementing them from July 17,” said PM Oli.

He noted that the people should try to become capable on their own as the government can only support them in their endeavour.

PM Oli further said the government should give a fitting reply to those expressing dissatisfaction with annual policies, programmes and budget with its work.  He reiterated the government’s commitment to good governance and directed the ministers and secretaries to work to ensure the same.
